Keywords are easy to remember, easy to type, and easy to understand. That's why for brand owners who want to be "found" online, use keywords in the SEO technology. Considering this, it would be great if brand owners could have a keyword-type Internet name! No www, no dots, no hierarchy in the naming system. Netpia offers Native Language Internet Name, it is the next generation Internet address that veers away from long, confusing names. All the users have to do is to type a keyword in any language at the address bar to get to a web destination. It's pretty cool and you should check it out! |||Being new to SEO, I've gotten a bit confused by conflicting stories on the importance of keywords.
Originally, keywords (meta-data in the HTML file's header which is not shown by the browser) were intended to provide a way for search engines to determine the relevance of a page to a particular search. Over time, though, search engines have gotten much more sophisticated. They now seem to be looking more at the user-viewable content than at undisplayed keywords in the header. (Abuse of keywords, particularly the use of keywords unrelated to the site's content, was probably the driving force behind this.)
I'd suggest looking at a few webmaster forums to get a feel for the current thinking with regard to keywords and their importance.
